Dear Friends in Christ,

Like many of you, as we experience this worldwide pandemic, we are living in unchartered, uneasy, and uncertain times. As a result, many of our weekly and daily routines have been disrupted or put on hold for the unforeseen future. Unfortunately, this also affects our gathering together as a faith community.

At the urging of both our ELCA Presiding Bishop, The Rev. Elizabeth Eaton and our New Jersey Synod Bishop, The Rev. Tracie Bartholmew, the leadership of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has made the decision to cease having in-person Sunday worship services. The leadership has also made the decision to cease any and all gatherings, meetings or events occurring at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church until further notice. In doing so, this will assist in ensuring the health and safety of church members and others who utilize and clean the church facility.

We are indeed living in uncertain times but as people of faith we trust in Jesus Christ who is truly our rock and Redeemer! The days ahead will be difficult but together and with the help of Christ, we will persevere!

Let us pray,

God, our peace and our strength, we pray for our nation and the world as we face new uncertainties around coronavirus. Protect the most vulnerable among us, especially all who are currently sick or in isolation. Grant wisdom, patience, and clarity to health care workers, especially as their work caring for others puts them at great risk. Guide us as we consider how best to prepare and respond in our families, congregations, workplaces, and communities. Give us courage to face these days not with fear but with compassion, concern, and acts of service, trusting that you abide with us always; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
